Whether this is your first massage or you’re a returning client, it’s completely normal to have questions. My goal is to make your experience at Sarassage feel comfortable and easy from the moment you walk through the door.

Here are the answers to the questions I hear most often. If there’s anything else you’d like to know, just ask!

What should I expect upon entering Sarassage?

If this is your first visit, we’ll start with a brief health history form. This gives me a better understanding of your health, areas of concern, and goals for your session so I can create a treatment that’s tailored specifically to you. It also helps ensure that any techniques used are appropriate and safe based on your medical history.

We’ll spend a few minutes discussing your intake form, answering any questions you have, and creating a plan for your session. Everything you share is kept confidential and is never shared with third parties.

What if the massage table/room is too warm/cold for me?

Your comfort is important! If the room temperature, table warmer, face cradle, music volume, pressure during the massage, or anything else isn’t quite right, please let me know at any point during your session. Most aspects of your environment can be adjusted to match your personal preferences.

My goal is to create an experience that helps you relax and get the most out of your session, so never hesitate to speak up— you’re not being a bother!

Is massage therapy supposed to be painful? Is it any less beneficial if the pressure is lighter?

Not at all! The most effective massage isn’t the deepest one— it’s the one your body responds to the best.

While working through areas of long-standing tension or restricted tissue may occasionally feel tender or intense, the sensation should always be tolerable. If anything feels too uncomfortable, please let me know. I can adjust my pressure or technique so we will work with your body instead of against it.

The old saying, “No pain, no gain,” doesn’t apply to massage therapy. Many people experience excellent results with moderate— or even very light— pressure.

What do I wear to the massage?

You can arrive wearing whatever feels comfortable. Before your session begins, you will have privacy to undress to your comfort level and get settled on the heated massage table under the provided linens and blanket.

For therapeutic massage, many clients choose to be fully undressed, as this allows for the greatest range of techniques and movement. However, leaving your undergarments on is always an option, and I can easily adjust my techniques to accommodate your preference. Your comfort and sense of safety are always the priority.

If you are coming from work or another activity, I recommend bringing a comfortable change of clothing to enjoy after your session.

What forms of payment are accepted?

Payment is accepted by cash, personal check, credit/debit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express), Apple Pay, Google Pay, HSA/FSA cards and Sarassage gift certificates.

Payment is due at the time of your appointment. If you have any questions about payment options, please feel free to ask!

What is your cancellation policy?

Your appointment time is reserved just for you. If you need to cancel or reschedule, I kindly ask for at least 48 hours notice.

Appointments canceled with less than 48 hours’ notice, as well as missed appointments (no shows), will incur a fee of 50% of the scheduled service for the first occurrance and 100% for any other occurrances.

If you’re currently using a package, you’ll receive one complimentary late cancellation or missed appointment. After that, each additional late cancellation or no-show will result in the deduction of one session from your remaining package balance.

If I’m able to fill your appointment time with another client, the cancellation fee will be waived. Please do not attempt to fill the appointment yourself, as I may have a waitlist to consider. Any outstanding fees must be paid before scheduling future appointments.

Occasional schedule changes happen— I completely understand. However, if frequent cancellations or rescheduling becomes a pattern, I may be unable to accept future appointment requests. This policy helps ensure that appointment times remain available for all clients and allows me to provide the highest level of service to everyone.

How is tipping handled?

Tipping is always appreciated but never expected. If you choose to leave a gratuity, it may be added to your credit card payment or given by cash or personal check. I also accept tips via Venmo or Zelle.

The greatest compliment you can give is your trust, your return visits, and your referrals to family and friends. Thank you for supporting my small business!

Is it appropriate to ask to extend the session length/add services during the session?

Absolutely! If you’d like to extend your session or add an enhancement while you’re here, just let me know. I’ll do my best to accommodate your request based on my schedule that day.

While I can’t guarantee additional time or services will always be available, I’m happy to check whenever possible. It never hurts to ask!

Do you do house calls?

In most cases, no. Sarassage is designed to provide the best possible treatment experience, with specialized equipment, a carefully curated environment, and therapeutic tools that aren’t easily replicated in a home environment. This allows you to relax, focus on your session, and simply head home afterwards— no setup or clean up required.

That said, I understand that life occasionally presents unique circumstances. In some short term situations— such as recovering from surgery or another temporary condition that prevents you from driving— I may be able to accommodate an outcall appointment.

If you believe an outcall would be appropriate, please contact me to discuss your specific situation. Availability is limited, cannot be guaranteed, and additional travel fees will apply.
