Frequently Asked Questions

What should I expect upon entering Sarassage?

If this is your first appointment, I will have you fill out a basic health history form. This will help me better understand your health/goals for the session, as well as rule out any techniques that may further complicate conditions you may be experiencing. This is essential for me to program your unique session and help plan/recommend future sessions. I do not share personal information with any third-parties.

What do you use my contact information for?

Phone numbers are used for any last-minute cancellations due to rare occurrences (weather, sickness, technical issues, etc.). Email addresses are used to send appointment confirmations and for general communication regarding your session/appointments. I may also send out periodic email blasts to inform clients of pricing increases, package deals, etc. You can opt out at any time.

What if the massage table/room is too warm/cold for me?

Please let me know if the environment of your session is not to your expectation or personal preference! It is my goal to provide the best and most individualized session for you. Most everything can be adjusted to fit your needs.

Is massage therapy supposed to be painful? Is it any less beneficial if the pressure is lighter?

Massage is beneficial no matter what depth of pressure is reached. The bottom line is that you should feel comfortable throughout the entire session. Sometimes if the therapist is working on deeper or longer term tension, there may be some discomfort. Let me know, and I can help you work with the pain, rather than against it. The old adage, "No pain, no gain," does not always ring true for everyone.

What do I wear to the massage?

You can arrive wearing anything since you will be removing most, if not, all of your clothing. If you are coming from work, I encourage you to bring a set of comfortable clothing to put on after your session.

For sports massage sessions, a pair of spandex shorts work well if you are experiencing low back, hip, thigh or glute issues. Those would remain on during the session.

What forms of payment are accepted?

Payment is accepted in cash, personal check, credit/debit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express) and pre-paid gift certificates.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation within 48 hours of an appointment or a no show results in a fee of 50% of the scheduled session’s price for the first offense and 100% of the scheduled session's price thereafter. If you are in the middle of a package, you will receive one free pass. All subsequent missed appointments will result in the deduction of one credit from remaining packaged sessions. If I’m able to fill the slot, there will be no charge. Fees for missed appointments must be paid before another appointment can be scheduled.

If frequent rescheduling becomes a pattern, rearranging schedules is challenging and time-consuming to manage. If your schedule does not allow for pre-planned appointments, and cancellations and rescheduling requests happen regularly, future bookings will not be accepted.

How is tipping handled?

If you choose, tipping is accepted in cash, personal check or credit card. Tips may be left in the treatment room or with me during the payment process. Tipping is not required or expected in addition to your service fee. Thank you!

Is it appropriate to ask to extend the session length/add services during the session?

Of course! I cannot guarantee that the length/add-on will be available based on my current schedule, but it never hurts to ask!

Do you travel to client's homes?

No. I have a beautiful office outfitted with state-of-the-art tools and equipment. This ensures that you receive the best massage session possible. Come in, receive your massage and leave without worry of having to clean up before the massage or adjust your home environment around the appointment.

However, there may be a special circumstance that arises where a short-term outcall may be appropriate (for example, a client is receiving surgery and is unable to drive). Please contact Sarah at sarah@sarassage.com to discuss your unique situation. There is no guarantee that I will be able to accommodate you. All outcalls require an additional fee for travel time/expenses.
