I receive feedback consistently about how clients check my online scheduling site and have trouble finding available slots to schedule into. Generally, the conversation goes a bit like this:
Client: “I toootally could have used you a week or two ago, but I checked online and you didn’t have anything for like… months. It kinda sucks for me, but I’m super happy for you and how busy you are!”
It’s true! My schedule has gotten fuller (more full…?), which IS great for me— but cancellations happen all the time.
Me: “Dude! You should have texted or emailed me!”
Client: “Oh I don’t want to bother you! That’s why you have online booking, amiright?”
TRUE. Having an online scheduling system really does help field basic requests like general bookings, cancellations and reschedules. I DO spend a majority of my day in my treatment room- away from my phone and computer. Between clients I don’t have a ton of time to return phone calls because I need to eat, use the bathroom, demo stretches and exercises, take payments, reschedule the clients who are in that day and sometimes I really just need to sit quietly for 30 seconds. Woof. But please hear me when I say:
I AM NOT BOTHERED BY MAKING MONEY. This is the business I’m in! I’m kind of a hustler like that.
You sneeze and tweak your neck. Or you’re bending down to put your sock on and a sharp pain zings down the back your leg. You hop online and see nothing available on my schedule for weeks. However, what you don’t know is that I have a weird 75-minute gap TOMORROW that the online scheduling site doesn’t “see” when you search for that 60-minute opening. This is why you need to text, email or call me so that I am aware that you’re looking to get in!
Also, clients get called out of town for work at the last minute. Or a parent needs to reschedule because they get a call from the school that their kid threw up and needs to be picked up RIGHT NOW. If I’m aware that you’re looking to get in quickly, I can get in touch with you ASAP when these last minute situations happen. Please. Help me, help you.
So here’s the NEED TO KNOW.
OF COURSE, the best way to ensure that you get on my schedule on a consistent basis is to pre-book your next appointment when you are in my office after a session. Realistically, you should have your next TWO appointments booked- especially if you are only available to come in mid-week after 5:00pm.
We can ALWAYS toggle those appointments if something comes up.
If you are unable to schedule that far out, that’s totally cool! When you have a better idea of what your upcoming availability is, hop on my online booking and see what’s available. If you find something, TAKE IT! In general, I’m booked out 3-4 weeks.
If you’re one of those people who can only look at slots the week or day of, I recommend that you follow me on Instagram (@sarassagemassage) and/or Facebook (search: @sarassagemassage) where I post last minute openings on my story.
OR… you can text or email me ANYTIME. I’ll get back to you between clients and/or during *normal* work hours. To be honest, I’m not great at returning actual phone calls, so to get the quickest response…

DISCLAIMER: If you text me, (especially if this is the first time we have communicated via text) please say hello! Tell me who you are, etc. I get a lot of strange messages and will straight up ignore you if I get something nondescript.
A few last details:
Currently, I’m at a point where I’m no longer taking new clients mid-week after 5:00pm UNLESS you are a referral from an existing client. In that case, contact me directly and I will do my best to get you in as quickly as I am able.
I’m also phasing out weekend hours. At the moment, I work the second Saturday of the month, but will likely eliminate this by the end of 2020. The only clients who are eligible for these hours are already on a consistent rotation. To be honest, I already work 5 days a week, and having 2 days off is important for my recovery and overall well-being.
If I ever have openings that I’m looking to fill mid-week after 5:00pm OR on a Saturday, they will be posted on my Instagram story or Facebook. Those slots will be open to anyone able to fill them.
